08 Oct BRAD SEWELL CASE STUDY: CATTLE STATION REFINANCE IN FAR WESTERN QLD
RSP recently settled on a refinance for a cattle station located in far western QLD.
The 4.10% variable interest rate achieved was considered pretty good for a semi-arid operation which has experienced adverse seasonal conditions for most of the last 8 years.
Apart from a competitive interest rate, the new bank also supported a carbon project on the property, acknowledging that the region’s resources and income opportunities extended beyond just grazing enterprises. The new bank manager also had practical experience with semi-arid grazing environments, so was immediately understanding and knowledgeable of the client’s operational environment and challenges.
It has always been a pleasure and a passion to do business in the otherwise under-serviced ‘outback’. The beer is colder; the sunsets are grander; and the swag feels more comfortable out west (probably due to the cold beer and late-night yarns).
