25 Feb Honest to Goodness: A Great Food Story
Ian Robinson took the liberty to interview Hugh Campbell, General Manager for Honest to Goodness – A wholesale / retail food business that manufactures and distributes organic and wholesome food to retailers and consumers across Australia.
Honest to Goodness started with Matt and Karen Ward 16 years ago, as a market stall in Alexandria and has grown into something wonderful founded on the values that underpin all their community and business engagements.
Hugh Campbell noted that “they want to contribute to a better world by providing real natural food that loves you back”. Products include superfoods, cereals, dried fruits, drinks, chocolate, coconut products, Asian grocery, flour, herbs and spices, nuts, noodles, sauces, tomato products, spreads…
The demand has been so strong they now have over 500 of their own products and over 500 of other products that they distribute across all of Australia.
Their philosophy has been Australia first with sourcing their product. Matt grew up on a farm near Cootamundra NSW and wants to support Australian farmers (and manufacturers) as much as Australia can provide before sourcing offshore. This has enabled Matt and Karen to build strong connections with their wonderful suppliers and loyalty from their valued consumers.
All the foods are either organic natural foods with minimal processing, no additives, no GM and no palm oil. They now have over 60 staff, two warehouses and looking to commence exporting their product in the near future.
