01 Aug Breakfast with the Minister of Small Business
It was with great pleasure to be invited by our peak body (Mortgage and Finance Association of Australia: MFAA) to share an intimate breakfast with our Federal Minister for Small Business, the Hon Michael McCormack.
Not only are there circa 17,000 finance brokers in Australia (predominately small businesses), credit advisors like ourselves reach deep into the business communities across Australia. So, what is most encouraging is personally witnessing government seeking first hand market intelligence from like-minded people to hear the current issues and challenges that need to be addressed for small business.
Albeit an outlier in probability, the impact and implications on small business of taxing family trusts was addressed, as well as banking and lending for agribusiness and commercial borrowers amidst the changing banking landscape. The banks and advisors noting heightened technical due diligence and time frames to complete funding requests was a key discussion point and the importance of credit advisors connecting borrowers and banks together on a professional level.
Thankyou Hon Michael McCormack and MFAA for your support and contribution. Voicing our sentiments through the corridors of parliament is all anyone could ask.
