John has more than 25 years management experience within private and corporate agriculture. He has an in depth understanding of agricultural production and possesses sophisticated business, leadership and strategic planning capabilities. He has successfully marketed and grown an extensive array of crops including grain, oil seeds, pulses and cotton, as well as planning and implementing extensive irrigation and broadacre developments.
John’s career commenced growing up on the family farm, north of Adelaide, where they produced Stud Charolais cattle and crossbred lambs. His family then ventured north of Warren, NSW, to pursue broadacre and irrigation opportunities and a commercial cattle operation.
After managing the NSW family enterprise for 10 years, John continued his career managing and developing extensive irrigation systems in South West QLD for private and corporate organisations.
Through his experiences, John has developed a wide array of financial, marketing, project management, and agronomic skills. Exposure to both private and corporate farming enterprises, has made him well versed to the various challenges each sector presents.
John has recently completed an MBA (Fin) through Charles Sturt University and now resides in Orange with his wife and two children. He enjoys the benefits of what regional centres provide with their facilities and educational opportunities.
In his spare time he enjoys golf, fishing and watching his children play sport.
